MEET THE WRITER/DIRECTOR
Lindsay St. Laurent
Lindsay St. Laurent is a Los Angeles–based filmmaker, writer, and director whose work blends genre, pop culture, and emotionally driven character studies. With over a decade of experience in post-production and storytelling—spanning Netflix, ESPN, and award-winning independent productions—her work is known for its cinematic style, strong visual identity, and focus on female-led narratives.
Her debut short film, Gothic Springs, starred Peyton List and screened at festivals worldwide, earning recognition for its direction and world-building. Most recently, Lindsay created and directed the comedy series VALETS, which secured Prime Time status on Channel 101 and won awards for Best Director and Best Writing.
Grounded in her fascination with music culture, psychology, and female friendship dynamics, Lindsay developed SASAENG to explore the darker corners of fandom through a thriller lens. Her approach to the film prioritizes authenticity; working with consultants, musicians, and real fans to build a world that feels both emotionally grounded and globally relevant.
Through her production company, Crooked Pine Motion Pictures, Lindsay champions independent cinema with international appeal—films that mix entertainment value with social insight, crafted for audiences who crave bold, character-driven stories. SASAENG marks her most ambitious project yet: a film at the intersection of obsession, identity, and the cost of wanting to be seen.
